Our Solution
Mobile phone penetration in Africa is growing rapidly. There are already over 35 million mobile subscriptions in Kenya and an estimated 19 million smartphones are expected in the country by 2020.
Mobile applications therefore provide an unparalleled opportunity to improve the coverage and affordability of training for healthcare workers in Africa.
To address this opportunity, Prof. Mike English and his team are currently developing Life-saving Instruction for Emergencies (LIFE), which presents the established ETAT+ course in a "serious game" format that healthcare workers can access from their mobile phones and other devices.
Through LIFE, African healthcare workers even in the remotest settings will not only be equipped with the latest guidelines, but also trained so that their first instincts are to act correctly. As a training tool, it has the potential to save the lives of thousands of newborns & children across Africa.
